Charlie's Coffee Co. is the place to be if you want a hand-crafted drink or homemade treat. Located in the heart of Manitou, its owners have created a space where everyone in the community can feel welcome. The brand is fun, joyful, friendly, casual, approachable, slightly feminine, and young at heart.

Charlie's already has a beautiful logo, fun illustrations of a cookie and cup, and their aesthetic is primarily black and white. The task was to create graphics for cold cups and a cookie bag that would complement their existing brand.

The client and I chose the direction of a multi-piece, collage-style playful, positive-feeling illustration that shows the things in the shop, and objects that represent nature, the community, and the people in it. Charlie's has vintage bikes hanging from their ceiling and a lush, green plant wall. Those were easy starting points. Adding coffee, tea, cookies, nature-inspired shapes, and hands to represent people filled in the spaces.

From concept to illustration to production, I helped bring these cups and bags to life. They've been well received by the Charlie's community and have provided a fun photo-op for customers!
